Smarty: "fueling only" versus "timing manipulation"

When to get your valves adjusted?

I was cruising along last week running stock fueling and about 28 psi of boost when I losty power and got a CEL. I checked codes and had a 107 Map sensor low. I checked my attitude and it was reading low and working as it should. I bought a new map from cummins and it worked great for 10 minutes and now it is back to the same syptoms but does not read the same boost. It either reads 0 at idle or 27-28 with any throttle. I'm thinking it may just be another bad sensor but I don't know.

Thanks for any input.

BTW I tried unhooking the Juice and it made no difference, also now I can't clear the code it is stuck in the computer.

I am wondering if I have to get a code 107 cleared at the dealership? On my diablo it is under permannet codes and I cannot clear it. I think my Juice is bad and it is sending a bad signal to the computer and now my truck is stuck in safe mode. It runs fine below 2000 rpm's but is a gutless pig above that. Has anybody else had this problem.

Thanks

CG

Dealership says they "think" you have to program for the new MAP. They say it will take an hour to an hour and a half. I don't want to pay $100 for smething that will take 15 minutes to complete and their lack of knowledge really irritates me.

something about that dont sound correct, i would check around

when doing some MAP mounted resistor mods I came across a similar code. I was just trying to get a bit more fuel cheap :-laf

anyway, yes it was full on below 2K, but above 2K it just wouldnt run right. pulled off the resistors and she ran the same way for about a mile, then all of a sudden things kicked back in and the code went away.

I was toying around with some low ohm resistors 36ohm all the way to 24ohm just to see what would happen. puter didnt like the 24ohm :p

I was doing some live data with my predator and it is working correctly. Boost goes from about 12psi ( atmospheric pressure) to around 32 psi which would correspond to the actual 20 psi I see on my boost gauge. I have driven it some but it doesn't want to clear. I am wondering why this sensor would have to be programmed, but the 12 psi of atmospheric pressure seems a little low. i don't know. The shop can't get it in until next thursday so I'll keep driving my 2000 rpm cummins until then to see if it clears.

which sensor are you changing? my truck popped a p0107 code a while back, and it may be called map sensor by obd2 standards, but it is the intake air temp/baro sensor in the piping pre turbo on our engines. .

I never thought of that sensor telling the computer that the baro pressure is higher than the actual thus cutting down on boost. I will have to check into it. Thanks

I had forgotten about the dealership breaking the connector for my baro pressure sensor. It had come unplugged far enough to lose connection, so I actually could have fixed it in 3 seconds had I known.

thanks again for everybodies responses
