Will a chip trip a Tamper code?

( Recalls On 03)

I took my truck in on Friday for unrelated issues. The recalls for my truck came out on Monday. I also need both done (PCM & cooler lines). The service manager ordered the parts Friday and hopes to see them in on Tuesday Feb 24th

I'm also having the TSB 23-025-03 done. That's the one that will replace the door inner belt weather stripping so it doesn't scratch the hell out of your window tint. Front two windows only because the other windows are factory tint. I live in AZ so this isn't considered a luxury but a necessity.

Mine came up with no outstanding recalls... . Is the PCM O-ring only for slushboxes?

If not it seems a little dielectric grease would work as good or better IMO.

Nope , mines a 48RE

Don't mean for this to sound like a dumb question, but will I need to remove the EZ before taking it in for the recall. I only ask since they're not "fixing" any isolated issues, just fixing known issues.

Your thoughts?

Mine is in the shop right now and I removed my EZ.

The AFE may raise a few eyebrows but it really depends on the dealer. If you are not sure I would take out the AFE.

As far as the TAG I don't have one, but it seems to me that they would have no way of knowing it was there. I would leave the TAG in.

Did you swap out the boost elbow as well? Also, where was your EZ mounted?

Ken.

I have left the boost elbow off of mine, the exhaust temps are safe so far. I have not towed yet but I do pull some good mountains and at WFO it has only gotten to 1153F preturbo.

I will be towing the rv soon and I'm anxious to see how well it does.

On Edit: I should state that my stock muff has been swapped for a Magnafow. I just noticed I didn't have that info on my sig. Updated now.

There are Three recalls; one for the transmission supply line, second Powertrain Control Module; connector corrosion, and some trucks for the PCM needing to be reflashed. I guess the problem there lays with loss of power while towing. I am taking my truck in tomorrow for these. If you go to the Dodge.com, and go to recalls, put in your vin number in. It will tell you if your truck is needing these services. The first two items were just issued on 2/16/04. I am mostly concerned with the trans problem, especially since I tow a fiver.

Recall

Had my truck in today to fix a broken door handle and recalibrate for 315 tires when I picked up the truck they said they fixed the recalls on it. they are c42 powertrain control moduel connector and c44 transmission cooler line thats it :)

They did a PCIM recall on mine. It was something to do with the cruise control and how it lurches forward when you turn the cruise off. This was on a 03 6 speed ho truck.

I didn't read this whole thread but thought this might be of interest to y'all.

Mine just serviced; no mention of TSBs

Fellow Rammers:

Just had my wife's 03 truck in shop for transmission oil flush/adj (great job, better shifts) and no mention of TSBs nor were they listed on the service ticket.

I never remove upgrades on either truck when I take them in. Honesty is a two way street, so I'm straight up with them and they are straight up with me. No problems so far. Service manager commented on how nice my truck is; I corrected him and told him it's my wife's. Not many 03s around here that you can hear down the road like her's.

Well I don't think they can deny you service. I believe the Magnussen (whatever-I forget) Warranty Act prohibits it unless the faulty part is something aftermarket.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you know which transmission cooler line it is? I just replaced the front or forward line getting ready to do gauges with a line that has a port in it for the sending unit and I would hate for it to be that line.

Thanks

JIM
