03 transfer popping out

I have a friend that has an 03 (auto transmission)that pops out of 2 hi in the transfer case when going down hill under compression. any ideas????? thanks

There was another posting about this same thing a year or so ago. Dealership wouldn't believe the owner until the owner made a video of it happening. Unfortunately I don't remember how they fixed it (linkage problem maybe?) but he did end up getting it corrected.

Mine has done that once. I was not happy but I got it back in without problem after I had figured out what was going on. That would be more difficult with an automatic I suppose. Like I said, only happend once about a year ago so I haven't worried about it.

let me know what you find out mine does the same thing, I have learned how long I can let off the peddle before it kicks out. thanks

Internal fork or collar problem. Its not seating all the way in. Check linkage first but I bet its internal.
