I need to find an exhaust flange to replace my cast elbow, what are the dimensions on the turbo side of the elbow? I am going to build my own downpipe with 4"thru the first bend and then to 5" from there. I think that I have found a source but I want to be sure I get the right one the first time.

thanks

James

I have my stock turbo sitting in a box at home... I will measure it for you. It was just over 4"... like 4. 25"

Jannetty racing just installed a banks 4" exhaust from the turbo back and it fit. It sounds great and with my 2003 modified afe intake it makes 38psi with my duration box off.

4" Down Pipe

We stock the Banks 4" down pipe which replaces the cast elbow and attaches directly to the turbine housing. This might be an easy way to accomplish your goal.

Banks exhaust

I thought about doing that but I am planning on going to twins w/5" exhaust so I am trying to spend as little money as possible that is going to get thrown away. I am trying to bring the 5" exhaust as close to the turbo as possible. Thanks for the help everyone!

BHanner, if I read you drawing correctly the stock turbo outlet is 3. 75"?

If so what is the 4 and 1/8" measurement?

The turbo outlet ID is 3-3/4, outlet OD is 4-3/8, the 4-1/8 is the bottom of the grove for the band.

Just a thought Scrappy, but I don't think the stock turbo on the 3rd Gen trucks makes a very good Twins candidate due to the very restrictive exhaust housing. But I'm no twins expert and maybe someone else can confirm or deny this. . .

twin candidate

Vaughn, I am not thinking of using the stock turbo with twins, I am just saying that I want to eliminate the stock elbow. When I finally do the twins, I want to be able to cut the exhaust to bolt in the twin's downpipe w/o adapting or redoing what I have already done.

LOL, Paint :D

I did have autoCAD at one time... but not anymore.
