How much space do side air bags take?

Well almost.

I have the pattern thanks to Wayne (amsoilman). he is going to evaluate how they do. They are made like the others but because of the unique design of the grille, they stand out at the edges a little. The good thing there is the panels do not hit any paint or chrome parts...

Here are a few pics

there is an ad in the classifieds but it needs a couple of days to be approved for you to see it. Just E-mail me or PM if interrested

I thought a portion of the grille still needed to be open. I don't see any openings in that front.

How much are they?

Amsoilman has had a set on for about 4 days now, E-mail or PM him for evaluation. they will be available by the weekend.

The panels allow a little air to pass through around the edges but it is not necessary. it is just the design of the grille. The grille curves at the edges and the panels dont.....

The air will still travel from the bumper opening and up to the radiator, making it warm up sig. faster. The panels while it is warming up just doesn't allow air to go into the engine comp. and when the thermostat opens, some air is going through but because of the volume of coolant, it takes a great deal of power climbing a hill even at 40 deg to make it get very warm. so for around town or easy freeway, there is no problem on heat, even for a bombed truck.

wayne, how are they doing for you?

you said you drive 10 miles and it don't get warmed up by then. does it get up to 200 now?

Anyone thinking of getting a 03 winterguard, E-mail me after Christmas. I will be away and unavailable til the 28th...

After having the "Winter Gaurds" on my 03' CTD for the past week, I can say they do make the engine warm up quicker. The weather here has not been all that cold yet, but it seems the engine does warm up a bit quicker, which allows the heater to put out heat a bit quicker as well.

Happy Nw Year! Had snow here the other day, winter is here I guess...

This will help warm up the truck faster on those cold days.
