In reading the new TDR magazine and the new Geno's catalog, I find that I am interested in buying the new mount that goes under the rear region of the T-case, but my truck does not have the oem T-case skid plate which is required in order to install the new mount.
How/where can I find the proper skid plate? A part number and diagram would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance for any replies!

I found this part number a couple of days ago...., but I have some doubts that it is what I am needing....for instance, I can't see how it will fit my truck due to the cross member location and I did not find 4 bolt holes anywhere near where this plate would need to go. *My T-case is a 271 and this plate is listed for a 273----I don't know if they are enough different to matter or not. *My guess is that the skid plate that I need is not much more than a bar or something similar that simply goes from one side of the frame to the other, but I need to find a good diagram that shows how the plate attaches. *I know that P/N 52022048AL attaches with 4 bolts (Hex flange head M6x10).
Thanks for your reply.

OK, here is an update: *from what I have been able to find out, it seems I need both a cross-member (52022046AE) and the skid plate (52022048AH) plus the bolts for both. *It appears the cross member goes across the frame farther towards the rear of the truck than where the transmission cross member is located; then the skid plate for the T-case spans the distance between the 2 cross members and attaches to both of them. *
Now I need to go out and look under the truck again to see if I can install the rear cross member without interfering with my dual by-pass oil filter mounts and my FASS Titanium fuel filter system (both are frame-mounted).
Thanks to everyone who read and replied (or who just read and gave some thought to the topic).

52022046AE does not look like the correct cross member (aka flimsy strap holding the rear of the skid plate) It goes from under the cab mount on one side across to the cab mount on the other side. Holds nothing but the skid plate.

You are correct in that it does not do anything except hold up the end of the skid plate, but extensive Inet searching has not turned up anything else. *I ordered the parts a couple of hours ago, so I will find out....either it works out or I go back to square one.
