04.5 3500 Order

Just spoke with DC, they informed me that the 6 speeds and Anti-Spin diffs are on resriction through at least the end of May :{



My truck was ordered on 4/14.



So I guess now I'm not sure if I'm even going to get an 04



Sure would be nice if DC would realize that alot of us want 6 speeds and plan accordingly.

Yeh with the introduction of the new 48RE I had trouble locating a 6 speed when I was looking for one. It used to be the opposite

I had a helluva time finding a 6 speed also. I hope the delay on your new truck isn't too long. They may have thought that the 6 speed wouldn't be as desirable with the 48RE transmission and tried to plan accordingly. Shot themselves in the foot I guess...

I don't see either the transmission or the anti-spin in the list. My biggest concern is with the axle, as my new truck will be here in a couple weeks.

The delay is apparently a supply restriction for the transmission and anti-spin. Last week they told me that the order had passed through all of the edits and would be "D1" any time now.



Obviously bad information last week.



Had the dealer do another search today, only one 6 speed with side air bags in the country

Don't really want to wait until July or August, but I guess I don't have much of a choice :{



Dealer told me they recieved 15 diesels this week end, not a one 6 speed. Although they have them on order.



Guess DC didn't order enough 6 speeds Oo.

I'm in the same boat. Ordered my 6 speed CTD on March 14. I have a VIN number, but my truck dosen't show on the Insight network yet. According to JeepDude link dated the 21st there are no restrictions on 6 spd or anti-spin diff. I will talk to my dealer tomorrow and see what gives.



Does anyone know when the truck will show on Insight? Does this occur only after the truck goes D1. I'm not even really sure what D1 means. I think it means that the truck starts assembly?

i ordered end of march, truck went D-1 on 3/25 and was released from the plant on 4/24. will be shipped shortly.



6 speed, anti spin.



not sure where the restriction is but it seems my dates are comparable to yours.

Great news today

We ordered our new 3500 DRW on 2/26/04. At the time i was told it would take around a 5 week delivery time frame, then it turned into a 7 week time frame , and then the new delivery date was 8 weeks and a few days. My sales woman called this morning and told us the new rig will be in Toledo , Oh . on 4/28/04 and delivered to the dealer buy the evening of 4/29/04. I sure hope she is right this time ,as it has been a long dry spell since i sold my 99 the 1st of 2/04.

Well that was not what I wanted to hear. I was wondering why I did not have a VIN number yet (I ordered my truck 4-15). I also called DC today with my VON number, and was told there was a delay, but I did not know that was the reason. Hmm, glad I am not in a hurry for my new pickup.



WTF? You would think that Chrysler would keep on top of their components. Is this a normal thing for them to have restrictions because of them trying to penny pinch and operate with stock on demand? I would gladly pay a couple hundred more for a new pickup that would be delivered in a timely manner. Hell, I could probably order and receive three BMW’s from Germany one after the other faster than I will receive my pickup from Chrysler in Mexico.

I ordered my 3500, 4x4, six speed 2-16, if it is delivered this Monday, 4-31, it will be 12 weeks. The truck is here in Houston on a rail car. I hope to have it some time next week. The waiting is the hard part, but it seems the only way to get what you want.

I ordered my 3500 SRW Auto w/anti spin on 3/24. It took 3 weeks to get a VIN. I called yesterday to check the status and was told they had not started it yet but saw it was scheduled to be (shipped out??) on 4/30. They said it was possible they could get it built and through paint in two days. What do you think?

I ordered my truck on 2-20-04 and it is going to be here "maybe" 5-7-04. Looks like I got stuck in the middle of all of the delays. I have all of this stuff to put on it but no !@#$%#! truck! :{
