04.5 600 what a dissapointment

I have 700 miles on the new truck and found 1 thing that really dissapoints me.







WHERE DID THE SUNGLASSES HOLDER GO!! I had ones on the 01 and 02.



Gonna have to buy a ford!??

I miss the instantanious MPG readout on the overhead computer.

Mine go on the transmission hump next to the transfer case shifter. Rides so smothe, nothing slides anywhere... Oh, yours is a 04. 5, that answers that. Mine is just an 04... . he he he

Everything about this truck flat out impresses the h3ll out of me. I was really happy with the 01 and 02 truck but this one blows those two clear out of the water. . Seems as though every thing is upgraded from the 2gen trucks. VERY HAPPY CAMPER AM IOo. Oo. Oo.

hey, mine has the MPG read out!!! Its standard on the SLT, or so I thought.

They have an averaged MPG readout but don't have one in real time. The average one can easily be mistaken for real time when you reset it becasue there are so few data points to average but it will smooth out over a few miles.

I guess you are correct. Now if it was correct! Its off bu a few mpg! The one on the wife's Lincoln Mark 8 is very close but that is all that is ok with that FORD!

My AVG MPG overhead actually reads approx 1 MPG LESS than what I hand calc. Filled up second time yesterday - and followed same procedure - fill till clicks off - slowly fill till clicks off twice more - done. Hand calc something like 15. 67, overhead said 14. 5. My 99 was the opposite - it read 2 MPG higher than what hand calc.

I miss the shades holder too--I have it in my Durango. I wind up having to put them in the fold down console. Even though it's so easy to do, for some reason I think... what a pain!



I have some pricey shades and now I have to place them in their protective case, open the console, and put them to bed. With the shades holder, they are well protected without the case.



But, WHO CARES! It's my first deisel, and my first pickup! And it is AWESOME!!!!

The shades holder never really held a pair of my shades anyways. It was only big enough for "flat" sunglasses, as the wraparound style are too thick. I still wonder why they got rid of that compartment, my woman used it to stash her sewing kit and misc crap that's probably going to end up cluttering the glove box in the 3G.

Same with my 04. 5 except mine is showing 2MPG less than hand calc... 13. 5 vice 15. 5. I've got just over 1k on the truck and love everything about it. Every time I drive it the MPG seems to go up a little bit. As for all of you guys *****ing about low MPG on the 04. 5 what a bunch of whiners!!! This truck has barely been out long enough to get any real meaningfull numbers. If you love your 04 305 555 more power to you, that doesn't mean you have to bash the 04. 5. I think in the long run the 5. 9 600 will prove itself as a performer and a reliable power plant. Every time I hear someone ***** about it it sounds like sour grapes to me.

Say it isn't so. I liked my sunglasses holder in my 2000. I played with the MPG as well. Please, please don't tell me they hacked the drink holders. I forgot to check them out. I use large coffee mugs and they fit right in my 2000.

I was really disappointed too when I climbed in the cab and saw the sunglass compartment was gone... ... but the next day I was wandering around Bass Pro and found a sunglass clip that slides onto the sunvisor and you can clip your glasses to that... ... works nice... ... I LOVE MY TRUCK!!!!!
