04 5.9 Replacement Motor Source?

I am looking for an early 3rd Gen truck 03-05 with 5 or 6 speed manual. I have found a 04 locally that needs a motor. Apparently a piston tried to come out the block and damage the computer. The VIN the owner gave me is wrong correct, so won’t be able to verify the version of the engine until after I see it tonight. Aside from Jasper, what are other sources and cost for a rebuilt motor? It doesn’t sound like this truck will provide a good core.
