hi,

question.

I have a 04. 5 dually.

I have a Geno's westach boost gauge that install at the manifold with the adaptor bolt. I usually see 25 to 30 boost when towing 5ver if climbing a hill or punch pedal.

I also have a Edge insight CS to monitor other items.

Now the question.

The Westech gauge will not show more than 20 boost.

But the Edge CS will show 28.

WHERE is the Edge reading the boost. It come from the OB2 port BUT where is the reading originating from. I am wondering if I have a bad westach or if the boost is read upline from the westach then I have a problem.

The truck seems to run fine.

Thanks

Marvin

Hi neighbor! You should have more like 28 lbs showing on the Westach. I have the same gauge and use one of the boost bolts. If you have the line loose still we could run your guage on my truck and see what it reads.
Or for that matter, dial up 25~30psi of regulated air pressure on my shop compressor and apply it to the gauge.

Thanks for the offer but I'm in Yosemite on the road now. Then up to Boise.
But where does the cs monitor get its reading.

The CS is reading from the MAP sensor thru the conversion algorithms implemented in the ECU. The ECU converts the analog signal from the map to digital. The conversion looses accuracy but not that much.

Pretty sure you have a gauge or line problem if the Westach never sees over 20 psi. Completely stock you should see 28-30 max boost psi.
