04.5 Engine Noise Increasing

My 04. 5 engine noise is increasing since new. No only is it MUCH louder at idle, it is much louder under full throttle towing conditions. Yesterday I listened to a similar equipped 05 and was amazed how quiet it was!!! Here is some info:

-#6 injector replaced 3,,000 miles ago - no significant difference in

noise but milage increased slightly

-No power enhancement installed

-Stock Exhaust

-23,500 miles

-TSB # 18-037-04 performed 7,000 miles ago. Milage increased 1 mpg and

engine noise is definitely louder.

-Non towing 13-14 mpg highway. Towing 12,000lb 8 mpg highway

A big part of purchasing this new truck was the reduction in noise, at first this was true... but now it is much louder than new. What would be the 1st step? Anyone have a similar experience that they worked through? Is my highway milage in line with others?

FJ how often do you run fuel conditioner? My '03 got noisier if I didn't use it, it made quite a noticeable difference. Vaughn

2004.5 Louder also

My 2004. 5 now has about 18k miles is significantly louder also. Mine had the mileage reflash quite a while back and I run Power Service Kleen Diesel additive almost every tank. Go figure!!!
