Well, I've been going over my new baby with a fine tooth comb since I picked her up last week... I just knew I'd find something wrong!!! (No, really, there MUST be something!)

Here it is... after one week I finally noticed that the rear "heavy duty" emblem on the tailgate is bent!!! (Why oh why did I ever buy a Dodge... . ):D

I almost didn't say anything while at the dealer today, picking up my running boards... but then thought I'd might as well test out the service department, so I asked if it was something warranty would cover.

(I explained it just wasn't on straight and slightly bent. . nothing too major, but still not right)

I was amazed... I just described the problem (truck was at home!) and after asking how many miles were on the truck, the service adviser said no problem, walked me over to the parts department and ordered a new emblem for me!

Said he will call when its in and I can stop by & they will pop it on, no charge! :D :D

(This is the local dealer in Petaluma that gave me the invoice deal without any hassle... so far it can't get much better than this! :D :D :D )

Oh yea, did I say how much I love my new truck???

Hey Dan maybe they installed the bed crooked :D I'd look the truck over a little closer maybe they installed a 6. 0 under your hood. GFritcsh is right a buy is just around the corner.

All kidding aside if your dealer treated you like this so far and didn't bat an eye lash at ordering you a new emblem I'd say your in for some great service in the future. :)

I pulled all the badges off of mine except for the "C" on the fender. What a pain in the butt. You need about 2 hours and ALOT of elbow grease to get all the adhesive off. Once I started I realized there was no going back.

I think your "D" may have gotten knocked crooked by that 600 ft/lbs being applied perhaps a bit too liberally. The ones on the sides will soon be on the tailgate if you don't take it easy. :D

I had a Ford owner tell me he really liked my truck (he asked if I had the Hemi). I told him it was new and that I really liked it. I didn't tell him about your problem DanDee, 'cause I didn't want let him know that these Dodges are a real POS. :)

I also pulled all the emblems off except the mighty Cummins C. I like the cleaner look but didn't have to suffer the elbow grease. A friend at the dealers body shop took them off with a flat blade and wheeled it. Everyone in the shop thought it looked cleaner!

Absolutely !

And when I got home this afternoon, I found a message from Larry, the parts guy at Autoworld, that the bed rails I ordered yesterday, ALONG with the new emblem... were in & I could stop by anytime! (Thats less than 24 hrs!)

I gotta remember to bring Larry a box of donuts or something, this is the third time he has come thru on a special order for me. (AND, so far he has even knocked a little off dealer list each time, WITHOUT my having to ask!) :D

Although he always seems to be the only one at the counter, the phones are ringing and he's got three mechanic's yelling for parts... . he has managed to get all my orders right & even calls when he says he will!!!

So OK, maybe two boxes of donuts... :)

Well this is probably more than enough whining about a slightly bent body emblem... .

I stopped by the dealer un-announced this morning, expecting to be told to make an appointment... but service advisor said no problem.

He went out & looked it over & said he wanted to make sure it got done correctly, with the area cleaned and prepped before the emblem was put on.

He then sent out the body shop mechanic, who took a few minutes to look it over & explain to me how he would remove the old emblem without damage & install the new one.

20 minutes later they drove it out of the shop... and it looks great! :D

Great service from my dealer!!!

Now I'm just gonna have to find something else to whine about!:)
