04.5 lift pump ?'s

Since my truck is an 04. 5 is the lift pump in the tank or on the fuel filter housing? There is a little black canister looking thing on my filter housing, its about 1-1/2" in diameter and abou 4" tall?? What is this?? Since my LP is dead and I cant get my FASS to work should I go to dealer and get the conversion kit??

My 04. 5 died a couple of weeks ago. It has the 100k warrenty on the engine as yours has and the dealer put in the retrofit intank kit. It cost me $100 deductable for them to do it. I have read lots of pros and cons on this fix. I was told that if you are not bombing the heck out of your truck it should work fine.

That is your lift pump held on with 2 socket head screws you need an adapter

to convert to pipe thread. you can not push fuel through it it has to come off.
