I have finally figured out how a select few members get extra ordinary high fuel mileage while the majority of us get 11-13 MPG empty and 9-10 MPG hauling heavy loads..... Here goes;

1. They have their overhead trip counter set on metric. (Main cuase for good mileage )

2. They are feather footin it down hill in neutral, at night, with a tailwind with #1 above.

3. Using a solar, miniature keyed calculator, while driving at night.

4. Not wearing correct prescription for reading glasses. :D

That means I am going to have to check the weather before trips and only go with the tail wind. I think I have tried all of the other options.

Oh well, if that works I will try it.

I am getting 20+ on the highway... ... EZ, Intake, Straight Pipe... I dont see a problem there... Do you guys??? 4900 miles on the clock.

I honestly get 17mpg on a routine basis, no BS, usally about 515 miles for one 30 gallon fill up. Some times I drop into the 16's when traffic is really bad, and I get 18+ on long freeway trips. However my pickup is a SRW 2wd, and I run around empty most of the time.

I get 20-20. 5 if I am running 65-70, but if I push it over 70 it drops down to 17. 5-18. This is with a BHAF and straight pipe, but otherwise stock. I'm really having a hard time believing that 4x4 1-tons are getting better, but maybe they are.

I get 17mpg unless I get my foot into heavy and then it gets down into the low 16's. Also milage did'nt change when I put the 315's on. Actual does a little better going down the Interstate. BUT, I still don't get the milage that my 03 gets---20. 5mpg

2004.5 Milage

I seem to get my best milage with my box set on 4/4. Around 21-21. 5 mpg at 60 mph. At 75 mph it drops to 18 with the tail gate up. I believe a Sun Coast torque converter will help around town milage.

Now at 5000 miles on the odometer and MPG is getting better!!! I used to get 11. 5 MPG consistently in city and 14. 5 MPG highway (hand calculated). Now I am getting 11. 9 MPG city and 14. 7 MPG highway (hand calculated). Hey, I'll take anything I can get. This drastic improvement in MPG is probably due to the Airaid MIT installed and recent Rotella oil change! Maybe if someone steals my Cat and replaces the exhaust system with a Banks Monster turbo back system and full AFE intake kit, I'll get 11. 9 MPG city and 15 MPG highway. That wouldn't be bad for a $1K spend right?

I got like 20. 2 with the cruise set at 66-67 from Utah to Washington. 650-750 miles.

I think we got 17. something going 75-90 on the way back. TST at 7/6 and airaid intake. 600.

I currently have 11,000 miles and consistantly get no more than 13 mpg (with tailwind) empty running up and down I-5 and 10. 6 mpg (going down hill)pulling 5th wheel. Dealer is also at a loss, according to DCX that milage is acceptable.

See Signature! Oo.

I've tracked my fuel consumption since new on a spreadsheet. I drive at 70 to 75 mph mostly highway. My daily commute it 72 miles one way. At first I was a little disappointed as I expected 20+. After hearing what some others are getting, I am NOT going to complain!

Note: The average is a true average that includes idleing, warm-ups, cool downs, some towing (>5%), sitting at stop lights, etc.
