There was some testing done by Ted Jannety stating that with intake and exhuast some trucks would loose power. But when equiped with a boost fooler and no additional fueling the power would noticeably come up on the dyno. This proving that the ECM and sensors can see the air flow improvments and defuel when the MAP sensor would show slightly higher values at probably the same RPM level.

For those interested, a modified intake that is freer flowing will allow for more power even on a stock truck.

The restriction of the stock filter causes the barometer reading to change on heavy acceleration. The change in pressure caused makes the truck thinks it is at a higher elevation and it defuels slightly.

We have not tested the difference on the dyno, but I would have to say 5-10hp is about right.

I just lost my muffler and replaced it with Gino's muffler elimination kit, kept the cat. On the intake side we have the AFE Proguard 7 with Torque Tube. Truck sounds great, still havent noticed much improvement in economy. Truck only has 2k on it.
