Sorry Wayne M
Long story short nephew borrowed truck for an hour brought it back ran ruff and was blowing white smoke was getting to point wouldn't pull hills empty very good so checked a few things that led me to injectors and after installing them still ran ruff so did the unplug test for fca seamed to
start better unplugged so that's why I replaced it does make it run soother at idle I also removed banjo fitting on back of head to check for blockage didn't see anything

You need a good scanner that'll read your rail pressure, and poke around here to see how to a fuel return volume test.
Have you sampled your fuel for quality? Did nephew buy fuel for you?

I'm checking on getting a scanner no nephew didn't I just put fuel in it after install and fuel return volume test is that the one remove return line from tank? and see how much comes back

Just googled the po148 code (several threads on it ) rail pressure sensor is not seeing the reguired fuel pressure the ecm has set. *They say the cp3 is at fault but they state usually a box/chip/ progammer is *involved.
The threads were mostly tdr threads.
*They also stated the lift pump was probably the ptoblem.

Wayne I have been looking at reviews on the autoenginuity scanner it kind of gos both ways as far as pros and cons can you get the domestic one and be good or go manufacture specific I have dodge and chevys to deal with it sounds like it does a lot of stuff for less
Missouri Mule I googled it to came here hoping I can find out its the lesser of the two evils or something smaller I got this truck with 42000 miles hasent had any problems in ruffly 9 yrs till now with 138000 miles ruffly

AE scanner comes with generic OBDII and you add on packages as needed. The full boat is quite the deal but wayyyy tooo much for me. Since I'm all Mopar and can get Ford and GM. support if needed, I went with the Chrysler only package.
Its def not a simple program like a basic scan tool, but after learning some stuff it's great. Their support is good too.
to nail down your issue, you'll need to follow the proper diag. There's a few items in the fuel system to check, and IMHO need to start with the very basics and then do what I mentioned above.
There are some here who know the system better than I. Perhaps they'll chime in soon.

Do you recommend going back to stock lift pump or a fass system I've been looking at them just in case that's the problem*
Thanks again*
Darren

The pumps on the filter were known to fail. The Fass drp that fits on the filter has had bad reviews but one of the members found out that the screen on the fuel tank module had black stuff on it. Which kept fuel from being sucked by the pick-up fuel tube. So you mite want to check see if your tank module has this black stuff on it or buy the Fass 95.
I took apart my fuel heater/pre filter many years ago on (Over 100,000) Mule and the pre filter (which was 3/4 covered) had black stuff on it. Carb cleaner and a wire brush got it off.
