04. 5 Banks six gun and speed loader while pulling a long grade truck felt like itt missed and the truck started to shudder and and through engine codes for crank and cam sensor but when I came to a stop and put the vehicle into reverse it really shuddered and died. codes where cleared and sensor replaced. Truck was test drove did fine made a stop put vehicle back in reverse it shudder again tripped engine codes again any help. also disconnected banks. same problem with are without

I don't know if it's related but my truck with the economind tuner will occasionally set a cam sensor code, that I will clear using the PDA interface. It never causes any drivability issues, and the Banks tech support said it was probably electrical interference from the battery cable running to close to the tuner module causing the erronious code.

Sir; 12 months ago I started experiencing engine shudder at 2300+ RPM & 75+ MPH, which sets P0336 Crank Pos Sensor Poor Performance code. I have the Banks Economind tuner, that was replaced 5 months ago. This shudder occurred with or without Banks. The crank sensor connector was replaced & later the sensor.

I cannot experiment with replacing the ECM for $800+. Seems local diesel shops cannot help me diagnose faulty computer or its harness! Arrrgh. What did you resolve?

I have the new tuner & should not have any problems.

IF my fairly new triple disc TC & rebuilt transmission is 'slipping', I can imagine an irregular CPS signal being generated to the ECM & 'throwing' a code. However loaded or not, this shudder is occuring predictably at 2300+ RPM @ 75+ MPH, in Tow Haul mode or Overdrive.

I'm not thinking the transmission, et al is the culprit.

Local diesel repair/mod shop has a DYNO, but said they don't know how to diagnose my problem. They don't have test cables to plug into the ECM, nor a scope, nor software to analyze signals. Arrrgh.
