04.5 tsb questions

hey guys, been off the site for awhile due to putting lots on miles on the new 3500. It's my offseason and I want to get the tsb's done to my truck. I have a 04. 5 3500 w/48re. What should i be getting the dealer to take care of. I know one is about getting better mpg.

You could get the 18-037-04 Reflash done for mileage and white smoke. If not already enabled, you can get the manual high idle enabled so that you can use the cruise control to set the high idle up to 1500 rpms on cold days.

What is involved in getting the high-idle enabled (a reflash?) I have had 18-037-04 done and cannot seem to get it to high-idle?? If I don't have it enabled, does the truck automatically increase high-idle when cold out? I thougt I read something about that in the manual?

Isn't there a tsb for a quicker warm up or something?

The truck will automatically increase to high idle after about 2 minutes. However, if you have the technician enable the manual high idle feature, you can set the idle manually using the cruise control. Turn on the cruise, foot off the brake, press set and it will go to 1000 rpms. Press accelerate and you can take it up to 1500 rpms. This feature is not weather dependant. The automatic high idle has to be below 40* before it will work.

The 18-037-04 is the mileage, smoke, computer TSB. Even if you have it reflashed there are some things (such as the manual high idle) that have to be enabled by the technician after the reflash.

is this reflash only for the auto transmission or the 6 speed as well. I couldn't find it listed under the TSB section under Website features.
