04.5 wont light em up!

is it just my truck?

i can't get my tires to light up! i'm not talking about doing a brake-stand but matting the throttle from a full stop. anyone else having the same peoblem?... . james

My triple-nickel won't do it either. I just figured it was because the turbo takes time to spool up.

Take a match to the tires if you want to lite em up. course you might lite something else up to. I think your missing the point what these trucks are made for. Just my opinion.

I thought these trucks were designed for "pulling" by keeping the power to the ground, rather than "breaking" the tires loose and loosing traction! Mine will loose traction, and "spin" the wheels if the pavement is asphalt, but I have the NV-5600 6-speed! It will even do this pulling my boat up a steep boat ramp!

Mine breaks loose once the turbo spools. From a stand still if I take off from a light it will take off then 15 ft into the pedal you can see the revs climb as the rear end breaks loose. My truck is stock with 4. 10 gears 48RE.

First one was a 91>95>00>03>04 never smoked are thought about smoking the tires. Have other things to spend my money on and I am not trying to impress anybody. :-{} I grew out of that years ago.

I've never bothered with my '03 (6 spd) or consciously tried on my 01. 5 ETC auto, but it would sometimes "skip" the rear wheels when crossing the painted lines on the other side of the intersection. It needed that 16' or so to build enough boost, I guess.

Mine won't do it even standing on the brakes. Put a buddy's ez on and it will light em up. Kinda sad since it does have 600 ft-lbs at just 1600 rpm. Think the computer is in control of putting the power to the ground and breaking the tires loose.

I nailed the throttle yesterday while waiting to turn left... had a bunch of cars stopped behind me on a busy street and had been waiting for a window to make the left. Thought I had one and tromped on it... seemed forever to get the 600 moving as turbo too slow... would have been hit if oncoming did not brake. Yowzer. I hate being the bad guy. My Edge EZ on my 02 definitely made it quicker. Someday soon... . George

It's all about how you drive it... If I feather the throttle and ride the clutch a little in second gear... let it out real slowly and steady I can break the tires loose through second gear and catch a good scratch in third... mine is a lot faster off the line with a little early throttle.

I took off with some throttle in second today making a left turn from stop. In the middle of the turn I grabbed third and it gave me a nice bark. Probably could have got some more, but it ain't cool to go sideways in a downtown intersection at rushhour Haven't tried to light them, probably won't for a long time.
