THERE IS NO WORD ON HOW DODGE GOT THE FEDERAL SMOG OK



No word on EGR, CAT, VGT, etc



BUT it does have 600 ft-lb of twist and 325 hp FROM THE FACTORY!!

I got word from the DC call center (technical escalation) that there is no EGR or CAT, that the exhaust pipe from turbo to muff is 5", that the pipe is 4" from muff back, and that the turbocharger is different. This information can be interpreted in two ways:



1. its just the DC first call center picking stories out of the air; some technician was either too zealous or just misinformed.



2. Given their previous silence, this sudden willingness to talk indicates that, since they only say what the've been told to say. that this information is probably correct.



Your guess is a good as mine. We'll have to wait until someone pops the hood on one of these trucks. BTW, trucks mfg prior to January 1 can still ship in January and be subject to the 2003 regs. Trucks mfg in January probably won't hit the lots until February. I'm just guessing here, based on shipping and dealer prep times.

To give you a blow by blow on mine:



Ordered 9/25

KZ (plant release) 10/17

Loaded on railcar 10/21

Left Vera Cruz 11/25 (yes, one month and four days)

(Scheduled delivery to dealer 12/8)



Arrived Tampa 11/29

Left Tampa 12/8 at 0600

As of 8:25 12/10, it HAS NOT yet arrived at the dealer in Key West! Tampa to Key West is 425 miles. An easy one day drive, even in a car transporter truck.



Where is my truck now? WHo the hell knows? Insight is now showing "Delivery Overdue" as delivery date. I suppose someday it will arrive,

It been on a railcar ever since, right now it just left Pendleton, OR.

Union Pacific tracking say arrival in Spokane on 12/12/03, 9:05 AM.



That means I could have my truck on Saturday or Monday!

why don't you ask your dealer to check it on the Insight Logistics db? taht will give you current location, and estimated delivery date.



Dealer called on mine today. Said the hauler had just rolled on his lot picking it up tomorrow!

Ordered my truck on Oct 17,2003. Received it Nov 28, 2003. Was able to get sirius life time, extra $500. 00 rebate. May not be a D600, but its sitting in my garage with less then 500 miles on it. Tomorrow it gets its Rough Stock Deer Guard, steps are on order. I went with the Bully Universal Adjustable Side Step $84. 95 at AnythingTruck.com, reason for using anythingtruck was lowest price, most others want 100. These steps look really sharp on our trucks, cost is good, quality is good, and they will support weight. Oh truck is 3500 srw, tdr, all options except nav radio and 4x4. I even went with heater cord as if i will use it here in south Texas.

Ordered 11-3-2003 04 2500 SLT 2WD qc, sb, HO, 6 spd, flame red, tow pkg, ltd-slip, class IV

lil Red I ordered mine same day 11-03-03. As of ysterday it was loaded on the railcar and the est delivery in to dealer is 12-29. Dealer tells me most have been showing up a week early. For some reason the schedule shows it planned to sit in Phoenix from 12-20 till 12-28

my salesman has been great. a young guy, just started 3 weeks before i came in. my truck was his first sale!. everyone in the dealership came by and shook my wife's and my hand including the owner. they congratulated us outside the building as if it was a wedding reception line. couldnt be happier with them. he emails me weekly on status of the truck

My truck came over on the same ship as yours. I live about 15 miles from Tampa and my dealer keeps checking and they don't know when its coming in. I wish I could just go over the bridge and pick it up. Can't do that so I just wait.

It's now Dec. 16 and I have a VIN#!!! Still not in D1, but getting closer! The guy at DC told me it went into the system 11/14... why is that when I ordered it 10/10? Wonder if that has something to do with my dealer not having allocation at an earlier date?

I talked to my dealer today and they had the regional rep find out what was going on with my truck. He came back with it is on the ship at the port of Tampa with 300+ other trucks. They go into final inspection on Thursday and Friday(18+19) and are due to start shipping out on Monday and Tuesday(22+23). Maybe a Christmas truck! I don't know why it takes so long to unload a boat. If you haven't got your truck yet, that me be the reason since our trucks came over on the same boat.

Update Eleven

This is nearly my final update, As the caption reads, our trucks were on a build hold quite some time. My truck was built and released from plant Dec 9th, loaded on Rail car the 11th and on it way here. It was in Marion, Illinois yesterday per the dealer, and will be unloaded in Sterling Heights, MI this Saturday. Monday 22nd it goes on Truck but not scheduled for delivery on west side of state to dealer until Monday, Dec 29th at 4:00 PM.



It will be a belated Holiday gift if I can get it now. With Dealer only open two days (29-30th) between the holidays, I may not get until January now.



Really, Really, can't wait to see what is on the 04. 5 trucks that truly makes them different so I can adjust my 04 to more than make up the difference.



This truly has been the best organization I have been part of and proud to be here with you all.

I finally got news on my Sept 10 order. It is to be built the second week of January , With delivery late Feb or early March. I thought I was being smart by ordering in Sept so I wouldn't't get the new EPA engine. However, since the Cummins 600 is supposed to new and improved, maybe Dodge out smarted me. Hopefully it will be approved for the exhaust brake.

Dodge is so smart they actually checked your name against registered Dodge turbo diesels and know that you still have a couple in the driveway, then the noticed I sold mine, and being truckless for two months thought they would do me the favor of building mine this year, and getting you the new improved truck next year.



We will have to meet sometime in Wayland. Stop in to see my new toy on the 29th if you are around.
