I just got a notice from D/C and my truck got recalled for a bad trans cooler line and possible trans cooler. . I wonder when they will recall the water base paint?

Anyone else get a notice??:--) :--) :--)

Yeah I got two recalls today. One for the possible water intrusion in the PCM connector and one for the transmission cooler line, cooler and engine mounted trans cooler. Seems all that vibration takes it's toll on these things.

I also received mine today. Actually I received 5 notices in the mail but 4 of them were for my previous 03's. I guess the 03's have two notices, ones for the trans cooler and the other is a electrical harness on the transmission.

I am going to make an appointment tomorrow for the recall and ask if while they have the truck would they please enable the high idle feature that is operated with the cruise control.

I just called the dealer here in Grants Pass Oregon and they knew nothing about it. They were not too willing to make an appointment for the fix. then they said I would have to leave it all day and maybe 2 days. I asked about a loaner and they said no. My appointment isnt for a month. I guess if Im lucky, the transmission will blow before then and Ill get a new one!

Had mine fixed today

Took 30 min to have my recall on the trans cooler fixed,i have a 2004 ram 2500,build date nov 3-2003. When I talked to the service mang. he told me some trucks (depending on serial number) could take up to 10 hours to fix this recall. Just passing on what I was told today. Gald mine was 30 min. coobie:p

welcome 04 Diesel Power!

you will read some **** and hear some ****, but all in all, you have tapped into a good knowledge base of hopeless Cummins freaks!

I know I've learnt volumes here and learnin never taught me a durn thing before :D

Finally got my notice today. Good timing... Tomorrow morning I'm taking the truck in for it's first oil change and the recall.

I'm also going to try to get them to do TSB 18-004-04 too.

Sure wish I could find a copy of that TSB online.

I got the same two recalls. I'll get them fixed someday soon but I'm not in a huge rush.

I'd be interested in hearing more about the fast idle mod. I haven't been able to frequent the board much latetly so I must have missed that conversation. FWIW, I have a new motorhome with the 5. 9 and it has a high idle feature on the cruise. All I have to do is hit "set" and it goes up to 1K rpm. I can dig that.

:)

These are not recalls. Recalls are for safety related issues.

These two issues are campaigns or as DCX calls them "customer satisfaction notifications"

These are to correct known problems that might make you unhappy or dis-satisfied with their product.

I'm not sure if I'm going to have these fixed yet. I get all nervous about leaving my truck at the dealer. Maybe I'll let them do someone else's truck first and not use mine to practice on.

My wife and I are taking the 03 Dodge with our slide in camper to Florida next week, got the recall on the auto and i'm wondering if I'm taking a chance going without the recall work being done?

The dealer can't do it till after our trip.

Is there anything I can check while on the road or too look out for? Or does this line just pop, and I lose all my fluid?

Is there any way of knowing just how serious this "customer satisfaction notification" is?

Was this campaign for the transmission cooler line started because DC is seeing a large number of failures in the field?

Or is it a precautionary thing? Is this known problem wide spread or does it affect only a small number of Rams?

I'd be interested in the details of this issue.

I feel like Irutigliano. I get kinda nervous about dealer service.

Got my recall for the transmissions cooler line fix 2-25 I will probably leave it at the dealer next week sometime.

They might call it a "Customer Satisfaction Notification" but if you fill out the card to update their records, it's being sent to the "Recall Administration" :)

That's curious... I'm looking at the service order from having mine done this morning. It says "RECALL C44 TRANS COOLER SUPPLY LINE".

I got my first oil change, the fast idle TSB, and the recall done in less than 2 hours.
