I have a Dtt auto. I know EXSTOKER so I was just picking on him.

BTW my DTT did jump my mileage up by about 1. 5 mpg. My 97 stock got 13s all the time. Other mods helped too but the DTT is all that would be the same on a 04. 5

KFette, thanks for replying in about your 305/555. It seems to be luck of the draw on the mileage issue. Maybe some motors are just wound tighter than others from the get go... who knows. My 600 is doing around 16 mpg, same with my Dad's who has an early Jan. build date. My build date is 12 Mar, best truck I've ever owned

This has turned out to be bad injectors for the most part. And it seems to be a problem with early build engines. My build date was 1/5/04,

Fred, DO you have bad injectors?

My new truck is an early build, I have a little "pinging" at 1800-2000 rpms, but none of the other symptoms. No hesitation, etc.

To early to tell mileage yet, but hand calculated is about 13 so far.

Maybe this is a cold weather issue which I will notice next winter. Is D'Ambrosio's going to replace your injectors?

Injector problems.

Scott,

I cannot get D'ambrosio to return my phone calls. They are supposedly checking with STAR on the pinging/knock/MPG issues.

The info I have been finding about problems with early injectors has been from searching through post in a couple different web sites.

What a surprise.

I would think if you had one of more bad injectors, you might show other symptoms - smoke, oil level high, etc? I know you had injector issues with your Powerstroke.

So far, I'm as pleased as punch with my truck. I want you to drive my truck, and see if you feel a difference.

Thanks Bert&Holli,

I'm a newby on diesel ownership, as well as this is my first Dodge. Dealer told me to expect at least 17MPG for my automatic. Just cannot get happy about what I am currently getting. I ordered the Six Gun with speed loader and air intake from Banks, they claim better MPG's and... lots more HP and torque! Should be here any day now, I am pretty anxious.

The threads I am reading are mainly on the new 600's, haven't seen much on the MPG's of the 305/555...

Thanks again, Kevin
