'04 Option - Hands Free Communication

Anyone know the details of the new option on the '04's called "Hands Free Communication"? When is it available and is it a worthwhile investment.

It is a "bluetooth" handsfree setup that allows your car audio system to act as a speakerphone. As of now, there are not a lot of "bluetooth" enabled phones.

Motorola handsfree

kit is about $100, and installs easily, so you can use the v60 or some of their other phones. Nokia makes one too- the only difference is that i can let the kids listen to the radio in the backseat when i am on the phone, or have to turn the radio down/off to take a call.

Where can you get the kit for about $100? All I see is about $250 online.

I have the Motorola hands-free kit in my truck and like it very much. It is not Bluetooth.

How hard was that unit to mount, time and difficulty?



It is really a nice setup.

The installation was easy, I had it done by J&S Radio in Willimantid, CT . They are professionals and they do most of the police and fire radio installs in our area. It didn't take them long. I have a roof mounted antenna that is about 3" long and I wanted them to do that, as I said they are the professionals in the neighborhood and have done work for me forever. The system works fine, it automatically answers when the unit is flipped up.
