04 or 04.5 ?

I just bought an 04. I am wondering is it a 04 or a 04. 5? It has a production date of 7-04. In issue 50 it has a list of the changes made in the 04. 5. My truck has about half of them. Does any one know what date I should looking for? I also seen in a nother issue early 04s had a different HP rating then later. The engine ID #57228152. Another thing that I found odd the production on the engine is 10-04, after the truck was made. What do guys think?

If your truck has a production date of 07/04, then it's a 600. Mine was built in May of 04 and it's a 600.

Any 2004 year model built in calender year 2004 is a 2004. 5 (CTD 600).

Check the badge on the driver's side of the valve cover for horsepower and torque rating - if it says 305 for HP - it's an '04.

I ordered my 04. 5 with the 325/600 in Fed of 04. All trucks made from Jan 04 and up are 325/600. Until the mighty 05's with 325/610.

Also remember the unmighty ISB235 from California and some other states. It literally says "ISB 235" on the valve cover. That truck was a 2003 and up, until January of 04' production. The ISB 325 is the "600" motor. My California 325/600 was produced in January of 04', so it validates what every other post has stated!
