With about 500 miles on the truck it has developed a power steering leak. I took it to the dealer and they did a quick check, and they think it is puking it out!! When I checked the resevoir it had some pretty good pressure on the cap. That seems a little odd! It leaves a pretty good puddle. It goes in for a complete inspection in about a week.

mine has a slow leak it has not made it down to the ground yet i am going to get some picks. this sucks is looks like these power steering pumps are crap!

Turns out mine is coming off the threads from a hose on the power steering. No problem with the warrenty issue in regards to all the bombs which I left on. The tech did ask me to take him for a quick spin around the block. I kinda got a kick out of that.

Replaced my pump last week on my 03. There is pressure on the cap, it's sealed with an o-ring. To me, there should be a bleed. When oil gets hot it expands. My pump was cross threaded where the metal line goes into the pump on the bottom. It either came from the factory like that or the Dodge mech. did it when it leaked in the first 300 miles. The hose costs $77. 00 and the pump $92. 00. Couldn't believe the price was that low, makes you wonder if there is a problem. Of course its out of warranty, 8 months old and 83,000+ miles.

Yikesaroonie man! That's like 500 miles a day, 5 days a week! It'll be 8 years before my warranty expires and you just wiped yours out in 8 months. Heh heh! Just out of curiousity EB, what do you do?

Only other problem was I lost my limited slip unit at 53,000 miles. It was replaced under warranty.

As far as what I do, oilfield hotshot driver. You can see some of what I pull in my gallery.

this thing is making a mess!!! Power steering fluid is everywhere!!! I finnally had enough and left it with the dealer tonight, hopefully it will be done in a few days! We'll see what they find out.

In a few days?!! It took me less than an hour to change the pump and hose. Three bolts hold the power steering pump on and you have two ends to the hose. If they have to have it for longer than a half a day, I'd cause a stink!

the dealer is about a week out on appointments, and I guess this week the techs have been getting re-certified, so they are way behind. They were going to try to get it done tomarrow, but it wasn't likely. They are closed for the weekend, so it should be mon, I hope!!! with only 600 miles on the truck it better be soon!!
