Well, the wife and I took my truck to the dealer last night to have them touch up some paint chips and come to find out, our dealer told us that today there was a recall made public on the 04 Auto's.

Apparently the transmission cooler line was not up to par, so the recall replaces this line. The recall was done on my truck and we have to take the wifes 04 in next week to be completed.

I wasn't sure if anybody knew about this, so I just wanted to make everyone aware.

To be honest with you, I am not exactly sure. The dealership said it was for 04's, but at the same time, he did not have all of the information on the recall. Meaning, he couldn't even tell me exactly what this recall was all about, except for the fact that he had to replace the transmission cooler line flush/replace the transmission fluid.

Sorry

Kev

My 03 also had a recall for the ECM connector. Don't know what's wrong with it, just that they are replacing it on Thursday. Does anyone know which transmission line they are replacing? I looked all over and cannot find a line that looks "new". Wondering if they actually changed it. Thanks. John

Recall C44 & C42

I received a postcard from my dealer about the recall. I called to see what was involved. The Service Mgr says it's an o-ring seal on the PCM electrical connector and a transmission cooler line. They have the parts in stock and it takes about 1. 5 hours to complete. I'll be taking the truck in later this week for the recall.

Yep I just talked to Philp service man at La Grange Dodge and he said it had just came out. He said he would call me when they get the parts to do it.

Why?

What is wrong that this will fix? I wonder if I can go enough miles without the fix to need a transmission oil change. It would be nice to get one free from the DC folks. I only have 3500 miles on my truck.

What harm might I do? Breakdown on a remote highway?

info

The recall is for 04 and some 03 late build. The trans cooler supply line could get spilkes/pulses in it when pulling heavy loads and cause the line to crack. This is what I was told when I called the 1-800-853-1403 number.

the transmission line is to rigid and is causing the cooler to break which then allows transmission fluid into the cooling system and anti freeze into the transmission. the new supply line has a rubber hose in it to absorb the vibration. the PCM and harness are checked for corrosion at the plug if there is none it gets the O ring other wise they replace the PCM and harness. thats the inof i got... HAd my PCm and harness replaced under a TSB prior to the recall had the line done this morning... man do i hate going to the dealer
