Does anyone know if the 04 Service Manual will be updated for the 600? Surely with the changes it would be necessary. I just checked, and there are 3 offerings for 2004 RAM (DR). The paper copies specify 2 volume set. Other than that, descriptions appear identical for all three:

PN 81-370-04095 $250 Paper

PN 81-370-04059CD $90 CD

PN 81-370-04059 $250 Paper

Anybody know what gives with the price? For my 2001 the paper was about $125. Why double? The 2003 is only $110.

Also, there is a PN 81-326-0428 $10 2004 RAM TRUCK (DIESEL) OWNERS MANUAL. Don't know what that is.

The current pricing makes the choice of CD more attractive than before.

Starting with the 04 shop DC is no longer production printing the manuals as they did in the past. The price is way up because they are printing the paper copy with "Print on Demand" which makes it one step away from what somebody can do a home with a really good printer. I have not checked into DC process but other books I have had done this way have a much heavier paper that the tissue paper used in some of the older shop books. The CD has several PDF files for the manual.

I have the CD for 2003 and just print what I need when I need it. Comes in handy when you can tape the sheet(s) to the hood while you are working. Much of the manual for the 03 is filled with info for the Gassers anyway I can't imagine how thick those books would be. I even keep a laptop by the tool box these days between this site google and the manual a lot of questions get answered at the speed of light. It's also nice to have a digital camera handy as my memory gets older. :)

Pay it forward

Anybody purchase the 04 CD yet?

I would be more than happy to pay shipping if you pay if forward and then pass it on again when I'm done with it.

It should be legal if you are forwarding the original copy each time, there is no limit on how many of us can read it is there.

I promise that I won't make copies and distribute for a fee. I just need to read it and pay it forward in a couple days.

If it happens to duplicate itself on my harddrive before the next user, I'm sorry!
