I have an '04 with a knock or Hammer noise at idle or low power roll on until under loard. Took it to the dealer and they told me to take the truck out and run it hard. . I did it went awaty for a short period. Now it is back.

Could I possibly have a stuck injector? Suggestions?

Regarding the "knock", I've had a similar experience as many of you. Mine is an '03, HO.

My experience with the dealer has been the same as many of you, also. "Can't fix what you can't see or hear".

I just got back from May Madness where I ran into a gentleman who mentioned that the dealers have a "recording device" that connects to the OBD port (I believe that's what they call it) under the dash. You plug it in and when the engine starts knocking, you turn on the recorder and capture what's going on with the engine. This device is designed to help with problems that happen everywhere but, at the dealership. This has been my problem. The knock is quite intermittent and never at the dealership.

I don't know if this is the answer to the diagnosis problem but, I thought i'd share it with you anyway.

Some of my comments are in thread 4 & 5 listed above. I can report that my engine now has 29,000 miles on it and NO "KNOCK" for the last 21,000 miles after the replacement of the #5 injector.

Service man told me he had replaced three more injectors on three other trucks since he replaced mine.

I think you need a couple more hobbies Ryan. :) lol

Yeah, that's all I need. As it is, I have too many interests for a 24 hour day.

Actually, my point in posting all those threads was to show people out there what can be accomplished by taking 30 seconds to use the search feature before starting a new thread. The "older" I get around here, the fewer new threads I start. Newer people tend to ignore the search feature. I'm not bashing anyone... I used to do the same thing... 3500 posts ago.
