'05 3500 auto...coughin and whinin

My uncle has an 05 3500 auto transmission. It has some kind of cough or interment whine until it gets above 30 mph. Has 150,000 miles on the rig. He has had it to several different shops and dealers and nobody can figure it out. He also had a banks automind on it and that thing broke. Am not sure if the problem began when the chip broke but it was about the same time. He says he cant tell if its the engine or the transmission. It runs great after he gets above 30mph. Would love to hear some ideas about what this could be.

turn the key on and off 3 times stopping in the on position. In the odometer section will display any codes.



codes or no codes, replace the fuel filter, they're cheap and solve alot of hiccuping and low power.
