I just got back from my test drive, I installed my Pac-Brake from my 05 NV5600 equipped Ram. The install went very well, no problems at all!

I'm so glad I was able to use this brake, I'm tired having to sell the stuff from the 05 that won't work on the 06.

The reason I want to post this is I was leary about trying the Pac on my 48RE equipped truck after a trusted tech at my dealer told me he didn't think it would work. I'm thinking there may be other members that feel the same way. I'm telling you don't worry it works perfectly! :D

If you have any questions fire away.

BTW a special thanks goes to member Jelag, Jim was of great help to me.

Is there any special wiring, or controls needed to remind the transmission to stay locked up?

I just upgraded from my 02 NV5600, to this 06 with an auto, I would like to add an exhaust brake for mountain driving.

Nothing out of the ordinary, as a matter of fact I installed it the exact same way I did on my 05 with the NV5600. The ECM takes care of everything, the brake disengages just before the tc unlocks then the trans downshifts, tc then locks and the brake engages again, this all happens in 2-3 seconds.

The brake is not activated @ speeds lower than 22-23 mph.

Another note: I really like the warmup feature, I had my high idle enabled and now if I want to idle with the brake on, I can turn up the rpm and the brake stays on up to 1250 rpm. I usually never idle my truck for warmup but I can see where this feature would be great for pre-warmup on a cold engine before towing heavy.
