Yesterday was not a good day. I took my 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 into Alan Webb Vancouver Dodge to have some warranty issues buttoned up and for a power steering flush. Later that day, I received a call from the service department asking if I picked up my truck. I stated, no. . Why? The service department could not find my truck! I immediately left from work and received a call from the county sheriffs department while enroute stating the dealership called them to report my truck STOLEN. Once I arrived at the dealer, a service department employee walked me around the dealership lot to see where my 1 ton truck may be hiding at. It was not found. I asked the service department employee if they had the keys for it and he replied that "he could not find the keys". He also said that it is routine to leave the keys in the truck so it is easier for other employees to move the vehicles around if they have too. This statement really took me by surprise as the lot that they keep the vehicles in is no way secure. At that point, I asked to speak to who has in charge. Five minutes later... No joy... . I was so angry, I had to leave immediately because my temper was beyond testing. After I arrived home, I called the insurance company, and spoke with the sheriffs department again, then the service department called me stating that they found my truck. The automotive glass shop took my truck to install a new back window in it. The service department employee stated that the glass contractor mistakenly grabbed the wrong set of keys. Now, they have to take the window that was recently installed out, replace it with a new one, re-tint the window and give my poor truck back to me. All this, and no apologies from anyone at the service department or dealership. I get my truck back tomorrow. Anyone else had a 5 star dodge dealership loose your truck before? Unbelievable. .

It actually happens more than you want to know but I have not heard of anyone calling the cops. I have worked at a couple dealers and know a bunch of people at other dealers and they all have problems with keys for some reason and finding cars.

Haven't had the displeasure of dealing with Alan Webb Vancouver Dodge. I am familiar with Gresham Dodge. They haven't lost my truck yet! :D But if they ever did I'd be plenty mad. #@$%! Sorry you had to go thru that. I would deffinetly be sending an email to the service mgr cc'ing the GM & owner. :-{} It would get their attention real quick. I know it's worked for me, especially when you mention the part about telling all your friends of the experience. Just my . 02
