05 dually 4x4 has a rattle

I have a rattle that starts at 20 mph, when slowing down. I can hear it if I drive at a constant speed below 20 mph or until I come to a stop. I had a driver's side axle u-joint starting to show some rust coming out of the caps, so I changed the u-joint, along with the upper and lower ball joints. I replaced the RH side parts a year ago. I will check the front driveshaft again, but was rebuilt about 1 1/2 years ago. I can change engine rpms, but doesn't affect the rattle, so I am thinking it is drivetrain. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you checked your rear drive shaft u-joints and carrier bearing and the support?

Is it rhythmic or random? What truck do you have? Maybe fill out your signature.

I have had the rear driveshaft rebuilt when looking for a vibration. New u-joints and carrier bearing were installed and rear shaft was balanced. This rattle is a constant noise when it starts. It sounds like a stick in a bicycle spokes, but a deeper pitch. The truck is an 05 4-door dually 4x4 with an automatic transmission. I will work on filling out my signature.

Are your front tires worn erractically?

Here is an update on my rattle. I jacked up the driver's side tire on the front and turned it by hand. I crawled under the truck on a creeper and could hear the sound coming from the front driveshaft. Although my front driveshaft was rebuilt less than 2 years ago, there is some side to side movement in one cross on the front u-joint. I removed the shaft and took it for a drive and the noise is gone. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that an incorrect u-joint could cause this problem. I am going to call the shop that rebuilt it and ask some questions before I replace the joint myself. Thanks to all for the help.

I just fixed a really annoying rattle on a '07 dually. The rubber bumper on the frame that contacts the overload spring was loose. You could hear it in the cab well enough to make you go crazy.
