Well, I decided on Dee Zee stainless steel classic running boards. I had them installed today. I have to say, they are not what I had pictured. They are a 3 inch board. I had pictured them thinner :( Well, my mistake is someone elses gain. Now, these boards ARE high quality and are well made. I have no beef with their construction.

I am going to go with J&J Classic tapered boards. I knowthey are more expensive, but they are what I want. I made the mistake of trying to save a couple hundred dollars... I have learned my lesson.

Anyway, the boards will be in the classifieds.

Cheers, Bill

I like my Luverne Stainless steel with box boards for my dually. I also purchased the Luverne Stainless steel pushbar/grill guard. I got a good price from TruckAccessorizers.com. I installed my own. Grizzly

Thanks fireman, I am starting to feel the same... That and the fact that these were $680. 00 and the J&J's are about $1100.

I have DeeZee's on my 2005 and I like them. I like the fact that they protect the lower door panels. I have the "Guardian" (black anodized) model, and I wish they would make the running boards for the rear, but they don't. Yours look pretty good to me... :)

RE: Boards

Billua I like the looks of those boards and that is the color of my truck also so if you still don't like them maybe we can work something out. If not where did you buy them for that price as that is the best price I've seen them for. TIA

Jim

Jim, I bought these at Sun Valley Bumper here in Las Vegas. They have a ton of truck accessories and an installation department. They only charged $125. 00 for install. I thought that was a bargain! I have tilted toward keeping these. The problem is that I initially expected the boards to be thinner. After having these on ,they are starting to work. I will install lights on next.

Cheers, Bill

If you don't like working on your truck, and maybe busting a knuckle or two, I totally agree. DeeZee's sales literature makes a big point of saying that they are easy to install using the body mounts, but they also say, in the instructions, that some drilling of the mounting hardware may be necessary to get them on straight and level. They are 100% right. You will be doing some drilling on the mounting hardware. All in all it is pretty straight forward and not that hard to do. Just take your time... ;)
