Just got my isspro guages installed... . do these numbers seem ballpark for a stock 05? Approx 60 degrees outside, 800' above sea level, empty truck

1. EGT: Full throttle run (slight grade)... 0 - 90mph..... I can get her to 1350 degrees (Pre Turbo)

2. Boost: Looks like it spikes to 30lbs and settles at approx 28lbs... . should it drop to 28? or stay at max of 30? Is 30 the typical max for an 05?

3. transmission: Dont know, need to fix install, needle wont move... . what should I be looking for here for normal (non towing) operations? The probe is in the front of the transmission pan???

Thanks in advance.

Your numbers are like mine. Towing 14k, I would see 1350* pulling a grade, cruising I would see a constant 900* with 20lbs of boost. The boost would spike to about 30-32 and settle in at 28-30. I didn't have the transmission temp hooked up for the trip yet, ( waited till I serviced it ). I installed the sender in the rear of the pan. Mine gets to 130* eventually. It actually runs cooler when you are running down the highway. I have seen as high as 165* when just idling in park or backing my trailer up a long steep grade. But once you get under way, the temp will drop like a rock and settle in around 130*. In colder temps, I have driven 10 or so miles and the needle never moves. Stop for a little bit and come out and go again, the temp is up a little, and goes down again.

If 1350 is without a box it seems a little high to me. I could only get mine between 1000-1100 stock... ..... even with my edge/attitude on level 5 im hard pressed to see 1250 out of it... ... ... ... ... ..... the problem putting the transmission temp sensor in the pan is that you do not get a true reading. the oil has already been cooled by the transmission cooler. to get a true reading you really neeed to plumb it into the pressure line going to the cooler..... it does take about 15 or 20 miles before the transmission will even get close to full operating temps... it will take even longer if you are in a colder climate... ... ;)

Your 1350 is normal, mine will hit that number, the turbo boost is right on the money as well, it is the same as mine, I have the transmission probe in the rear side port on the right side and I have seen as high as 190 from it, I am waiting on the MassDiesel replacement transmission cooler line to install the probe in the out going line to the cooler.

Yeah, everyone has an opinion on the transmission temp location... . and logically I belive the non pan location to be better..... however, I dont tow anything, and it's more info than the stock dummy light so I'm not too worried about it... if I get around to it, i'll probably get the line adaptor and plug the drain plug... . we'll see what the temp readings are when the guage works... . should know in an hour or so...

Thanks for the reply guys.....

I've also got my transmission temp probe in my pan. Is there a big difference between the two locations for the probe? The highest temp I've seen is 150 towing 11k in hilly country at 80 degrees outside temp. Is there a ballpark figure to use like the two locations for the EGT probe?

Ken

My '05 would hit 1300F empty pulling a mountain pass at a steady 75mph, that's with a K&N, cold air intake setup, 5" exhaust and no cat either. I can easily hit 1250 running through the gears on and on-ramp. Boost spikes to 32psi and steady at 28-30psi.

Me too, same #'s, same truck :)

Your boost numbers sound just like mine. I have the egt probe post turbo and can easily see 1000+ empty running up the mtn. 1350 pre-turbo is well within safe limits for the "600" engine. I am pretty sure it is designed to go 1450-1500 for short periods. Besides, how could it be "too high" if the truck is stock?

transmission Guage fixed... . sensor wires were installed wrong (swapped then and good to go)... . short 30 minute drive get'n on it... . 130-160... . so seems ballpark.

Thanks for the replys, love this site... .
