I've got an '05 with a G56 and have been doing a lot of reading on the "idle-up" (fast idle) feature that can be supposedly enabled with DRBlll. This truck has an April 2005 build date. My local 5-Star dealer (who is pretty decent, by the way) has been working with me to try to enable the "idle-up" feature on my rig. I installed the required Cummins clutch switch kit that controls the ground signal to Pin # 22 on the ECM's B-connector, but the technician, service manager and I couldn't locate the "idle-up" feature on any of the screens when DRBlll was hooked up to my rig. My dealer has successfully enabled this feature on a few '06 trucks, but no luck with mine.
Here is the procedure that another member recently published specifically for an '05 (that we tried during my last visit to the dealership):
* Plug in DRBlll
* Turn ignition "ON"
* Enter vehicle information
* Select engine
* Select Miscellaneous (Page 2)
* Enable "high idle" - - - this is what we couldn't find on the screen
* Press "YES" to enable - - - couldn't find this either
We tried this procedure with the clutch pedal switch in both the "ON" and "OFF" postitions.
Is there a Dodge dealership technician amongst our membership who has enabled "idle-up" on an '05 with a G56 and can advise me on the "step by step" procedure with DRBlll? If so, would you please PM me as soon as possible . . . it's been so dog-gone cold here in the mornin' and I would really like to have this feature working.
Thanks!
RJ
