My buddy has a 05 with 27000 on it and the dealer is replaceing the injection pump. They are trying to get him to pay for the valves to be ajusted 175. 00 is this true? I think this would be on dodge. Any clues. Thanks Rocky Arnold
$175 seems steep for a valve adjust, $90 I think is more typical.
The 2003 & up Cummins don't have an injection pump per se, what they're replacing is the high pressure pump which supplies the fuel rail with up to 26,000 psi of constant fuel pressure. Injection is controlled by the injectors themselves (this is how the common rail system operates).
2002 and older Cummins engines use traditional injection pumps.
