I've got an 05 with a J/Att. and would like to be able to open my wastegate manually without the Juice defueling. I've heard in past posts II, Quad, and TST had the part but after contacting them none of them do. I think from what I read this would be a quick fix. I hate when the truck falls on it's face as the boost limiting kicks in. Any ideas? Thanks, Ryan.

I don't know what your limited to, but the stock charger isn't any good past ~40psi. It's spinning way too fast and isn't doing anything but superheating the air and trying to eat its self. Your 05 has an electonic wastegate which on my truck with a TST and a stock turbo would easily hit 55psi. The backpressure was WAY above that and the pyro would move faster than the boost gauge. If your looking for a way for the wastegate to open sooner to keep the boost down, I think you can convert the electronic wastegate to a manual, but I'd have to find my stock turbo to remember how.

I already have "boost fooling" with the Juice. I'm not trying to gain boost, I'm trying to lower it mechanically through the wastegate instead of the Juice dialing back fuel. Stock the truck put out about 32psi peak, level at 30. I would like to set it myself at 35, with the Juice it'll spike over 42 without the defueling set. I'm just looking for an adjustable "valve" for lack of a better word like some of the ricers use.

I know exactly what you mean and I want the same device. You want the wastegate to open somwhere between 30 and 40, while setting the Juice to defuel at 40+. That way the wastegate will be open and the fueling maxed as well.

Personally, I don't know why Edge does not include a function in the Juice module to do this, (adjustable wastegate opening pressure) rather than just feed the ECM a signal that makes the wastegate totally inoperative. Unless doing so would cause the ECM to defuel?

You need to switch to a manual WG control with a boost elbow and source the boost from the manifold. You will also need a resistor to fool the ECU on the electronic control. Not sure what parts it will take but call Industrial Injection, HTT, etc, and they should be able to tell you what parts are needed.

Close ;) no electronics are needed, just leave the solenoid connected. Get the boost pressure to the wastegate actuator directly.

So... . does anyone make an adapter to screw into the turbo housing (where the wastegate solenoid goes for example)? Or is this something you have to fab up using another boost port somewhere?

Gary

Gary,

TST sells a kit that allows you to hook up directly the wastegate bypassing the solenoid.

*The kit is provided with the 04. 5 and up TST Cr boxes...
