'05 on order - How long does it take??

Odered an '05 two weeks ago, status is "BX", just called DC and they indicated it is not even scheduled to be built during September, hopefully built in October. What is the normal time it takes? Could it be back logged due to the sunroof? What are the current restrictions? Does anyone have any info on timeframes? What is the best way to track it? Any info would be helpful. I can't wait! I'm having diesel withdrawl :{

I haven't heard about any official restrictions on the sunroof, but I did notice that my local dealer has received a few trucks with higher VIN#'s than the one I ordered, and none of them have the sunroof. In fact, I haven't seen a sunroof equipped '05 on the lots anywhere yet. So maybe they had some QC issues with them or something. I just wish they'd ship my truck already!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't even seen an 05 hit our dealers yet. At least you got some to look over. Wonder what's taking so long?

When I ordered mine in August they said December delivery!

I hope they're wrong.

Still in Mexico

I just talked to my dealer who can't seem to get in touch with the zone rep. They still have mine in storage too (since 8-10). I don't know why becuase I didn't order anything unusuall like the sunroof or leather or adjustable pedals. I think my dealer is tired of getting a call from me every week but that's ok, that might motivate him to try to motivate the zone rep and get my truck here. Ordered 6-18, built by 8-10, and still in storage.

I ordered an '05 on the 18th of August and was told the earliest it would be made would be in October and probably a November delivery date. Last I knew as of a few days ago I hadn't hit "D" status yet (I think that's what it is for accepted order that's been scheduled) currently just has a status that the order was reviewed and is valid...



I hate waiting, and this will be my first diesel powered truck (options in the profile I think)... Hopefully they're all well rested and having a good day when they build it... :-laf

I ordered my truck on March 15/04 and picked it up on June 14th. Not sure I would ever order again. Saying that, I do love my truck.

I guess I shouldn't complain. It was 3 months to the day after I ordered my first one that it arrived. My brother-in-law, 2 other friends and a cousin all ordered trucks (one was a f**d) and it took all of their trucks almost exactly 3 months to the day. Why should I expect any preferential treatment. Oh yeah, because it's me, that's why.

Bad News I Think....

I just went to the dealer to change a few things with my order & I'm being told that anyone that has ordered a truck with a sunroof... they aren't going to be built. Dodge changed my order to no sunroof & claim no sunroofs will be installed on the non US built trucks(all Cummins are built in Mexico now)

Hopefully the dealer is has spoken to an idiot & he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Call your dealer & double check that your sunroof hasn't been deleted.

Report back please... I almost feel like cancelling the order.

Hmmm. . that's interesting. I just called customer service today and asked about my truck. I specifically questioned whether the sunroof was the holdup since I know of trucks with later VINs than mine already delivered and the only difference was the sunroof. The lady had me hold for 10 minutes and came back with the information that the sunroofs weren't on restriction and my truck has no infomation other than it's "in storage". Do you think there was a QC issue with the sunroofs or they just ran out of them at the saltillo plant?

they are temperarely (sp) off the ordering system, BUT they will be back, they are NOT being canceled for the year

Tomeygun, Please let us know if that changes. I've taken it off my order just because I can't wait until spring for my truck but if it was just a matter of a month or so... I'd happily wait.
