you lucky people. Just wondering if the new trucks are being delivered with the CAB PLUGS INSTALLED or if they have been totaly eliminated???

What about those fluids, are they up to the right level when you get your truck????????????????? Check it out,

Marv.

You have to crawl under the truck and look up at the rocker panels under the doors. There will either be tape or plastic plugs.

Considering that there are roughly 12 pieces of tape at probably $0. 015 each while oval cap plugs are on the order of $0. 15 each, you won't be seeing them anytime soon. For a mfr to increase the cost of a vehicle by a buck-fifty for over 100,000 units, it has to do one of three things: increase the safety of the vehicle, increase the sales of the vehicle, create a value-addded feature (meets emissions, etc). Cap plugs don't fit any of those qualifiers. Even off-shoring cap plugs to China will not meet the costs necesary to implement the cap plugs. Sorry, but that's the state of things for the time being.

I still have the complete set that the service manager refused to install on my 04 in my garage. I plan to put them on my new 3500 when I get the urge to crawl under it for a 1/2 hour. Yes, mine also has the masking tape over the holes. My guess is that is how its gonna be from now on with all the trucks and they will delete the plugs doon from their inventory and deny that they were ever on any truck... Its the Chrysler way of doing things.

I don't think the whole process took me 10 minutes. $21. 00 for the plugs at the local dealer. $40k for a new truck and they blast you 21 bucks for the plugs :-{} .

Don't even get me started on the wheel well liners.

Whats next? Extra for a block heater plug? Oh wait... .

Damn! Thats funny!. I had to pay the 30 bucks for my block heater cord as well. At least it came with a full tank of fuel :)

It would be nice if Chrysler gave you value for your money though. I agree that deleting at 15 cent part is pretty cheesy. But, at least the motor runs strong.

My body plugs were free under warranty. They just refused to install them, though when I saw the service invoice, they billed D/C . 5 hours for install!

Anybody got a part number for the plugs?

Do a search on "body plugs" or something like it. I tossed the number after I got the plugs.

You need 16 of the buggers. Came to $21 even. 10 minutes to install. Easy.

If I were you, when the truck comes in, look it over and refuse to sign for it until they put the plugs in (if necessary). Learn from my mistake. .

number is #4860953AA hastle the salesman to provide them, or have them order them. should have been installed when they built the truck. they might as stated, make you pay for them. if they give them to you install them your self, not hard.

There are 20 in the bag they gave me. Still not installed. They were intended for my 04 that I just traded in. Glad I was too lazy to install them :D
