05 to 14 seats

Has anybody updated their 05 era with the new seats from a 14? If so how much work was involved, and was the update worth it?? My 05 has factory leather seats, and my wife and I have hated them since new, they are so uncomfortable. Now they need to be recovered, and I'm thinking about installing the interior out of a 14. I know the tracks have to be modified for the rear seat, but what about the front seats? What about the center console?

have you looked at the air ride seats available as direct fit?

Direct bolt in for your model.

I just put 14 seats in my 06 Megacab. Direct bolt in, only some minor wiring to make functions work. WELL, WELL worth the swap in my opinion.

I'm going to have to do something with mine. I was going to retrofit the National air rides, but I'm also looking at late model seats as an alternative. If you don't mind, can you tell me where you got yours from? I can visit my local friendly Mopar dealer, but I'm sure he'll want more than the book value of what my truck is worth for them. There might be some take offs from the wreckers....oops sorry I mean Auto Recyclers, but I imagine they're very scarce. I can't think of any other source.

I found them on ebay, believe it or not. The are diesel grey and black cloth from a Longhorn or Big Horn the guy swapped to leather at a month old. At $500 for front and rear, I can't complain. I did have to buy a jumpseat, as his was buckets with console, and I prefer 40/20/40 anyways. Jumpseat was another $140 for a new pull out.

I guess the trick is to keep an eye on ebay and other sites and wait for an opportunity.
