My 05 with 30,000 miles on it is running just fine. I am about to embark on a cross country drive however, and I have a II Silverbullet and a Glacier Fuel system sitting in my garage. Now, before I go voiding all my warranties, what services should I have the dealer preform to ensure all is in check with the truck. The truck has a oil leak, that is the reason for my trip back to the dealer. Oil is dripping off bell housing as usual, blow back onto transmission pan. Not drain tube, it is comming from what looks to be pickup line??? Not sure if thats what it is, but it is the steel line comming out of lip on block and oil pan on driver side??? So anyway, what services would ya'll recommend. Thanks, Chris

At 30k, I'd be servicing everything, trans, rear diff, if 4x4, T case and front diff, check brakes, rotate tires, etc.

Well in about a week here, Dave Goerend should have my transmission finished up, so I am not worried about transmission. One less service I'll need done! Oo.

Have then check the AC to make sure it's properly charged. I had to have the AC compressor replaced under warranty in my 01. 5 CTD and in my 03 Honda Accord at around 30k.

FYI the diffs needed service at 15k ( THAT SCUKS ) and don't get shocked at the cost either for your american diffs take a syn. oil at $30. 00 a quart.

Well I bought the truck from a Five Star Dealer at 23,000 mi. So one would think they changed all these fluids i. e. diff, transmission, t-case, etc. , before they put it out on the lot. Maybe I am just hoping for the best service, I mean I am aware of this brutal age we are living in, where everyone trys to find the easiest way to save a buck. But I would still hope they would do all these changes when they recieved the truck from the first owner.

Consider yourself lucky if they changed the oil for you when you bought it... and hope they used a diesel rated oil on top of it all. I'd be putting down some coin that they probably didn't even check the levels on everything else! Just do it yourself or take it to someone you can trust ( not a ***aler) so you have piece of mind knowing it was done correctly.

I agree. I like being able to touch and feel everything that is being put in too/done with my truck. But I need to see the dealer as I have that damn oil leak

Any one that pays 30. 00 a quart for diff fluids is really bending over hard. Go to the Amsoil web site and become a prefered customer. All there fluids are rated for our trucks use. There severe gear 75/90 is set to go 50,000 miles in hard use.

I wouldn't do anything except change the diff oils, motor oil, rotate tires, smack it on the butt and go. Change your own diff oil. Soooooo easy and much cheaper. I used royal purple 75W90 at about $10 a quart. I think I spent around $50 or $60 for the oil.

OK, ok, so I guess I will do my own diff changes, what about servicing front drive shaft? Also, any thoughts about my oil leak? Lastly, I am getting ready to put in a Glacier diesel 2 micron filter, should I still change stock fuel filter? This will also be my first diff changes, how many quarts front and back?

What about radiator? Should i flush it, and add new coolant, or should I leave it, and add some of redline's additive, or should I just do nothing with it?
