Is it just me... or are the 06 and 07 headlights just completely terrible looking? My 05 Ram has the more square style... and I think if Dodge would have just taken them and made them about half as tall with some more metal... it would have looked perfect. Instead they made them twice as big. They took away some sheet metal on a good looking fender and replaced with with clear plastic... which serves no function.

Ford kinda went with the slimmer lights on the newer SuperDutys. Dodge headlights look like overgrown Toyota car headlights. Half the fender is headlight. Plain ugly to me.

I agree. Somewhere around here there is a post about some blacked-out Mopar headlight replacements. But I've yet to see a picture. Might improve things some.

I like 'em. I don't like the droopy-eyed look of the '03-05 lights.

Anyhow, we can all have our personal opinions, and chose the vehicles that we like. BTW, regarding to your reference to copying Toyota, you may note that Toyota is doing fairly well in worldwide auto sales. Maybe copying the leader isn't such a bad idea, if you can't do it right on your own.

Am I wrong? Is it American companies who are at trade shows with cameras, pencils and rulers making blueprint copies of existing technology?

As I've seen at the company I work at... sales do not always indicate success... or a great product. Just my opinion. I like Toyota... for little 4x4's compact trucks.

I dont like the look of them either but they supposedly put out 17% more light.

I do like the fact there's no painted body work above them to get chipped up like my 03 does though.

Bright lights.

I don't particularly like the headlights on mine but they do pump out the lumens darn near as good as my Honda Pilot. I need to adjust them downward though as they are adjusted to "stinkbug" stature. When I mounted my camper it leveled the truck out and I'm boring holes and blinding out my fellow drivers. I assume the up-down screws are the ones recessed and inboard of the headlights. Gotta use the garage door for test purposes.

That brings up another thing. At 3 square feet... you'd think you could light up a baseball field. But you can't. I know that my 05 headlights are the worst of any vehicle I've owned. Even using the fog lamps.

Still to this day, the brightest lamps on any vehicle I've owned is my 84 F-150. They are simple square halogen sealed beam bulbs... 2B's.

Yet they are the brightest brights I've had. When they are on... you will get flashed. I can drive my Dodge around with the brights on and nobody notices or flashes me. They are adjusted properly too... so its not that. They are just not too bright.

I guess I always figured the huge lamps would be bright. But its just a few more square feet of clear plastic... and not much more reflector or bulb.

Otherwise... I love the Dodge styling. :)

Compared to my 2001 Ram these lights are a huge improvement in the visibility category. Now with that being said, the low lights are best with the high lights set a little too high for good use. I am very happy with them, they are better than the Dodge 2001 and Ford 2003 I had, even afters modification to the lighting system in both trucks.

I will be mounting Lightforce lights upfront though to use on the long and dark highways or side streets. That will overcome the high beam problem endowed upon these beasts from birth.

I love the lights on the 06-07s. In fact the front grill was one of the reasons I chose Dodge. I was a Ford guy for a long time but when it came time to get a new truck, I hated the way the Super Duty's front grill looked. I wanted a diesel and since Chevy/GMC was and will never be an option, I came over to the Dodge camp and haven't looked back.

I'm just trying to figure out why the 06 design only lasted for a year of production. I like the 07's better due to less "orange". I like the clear look with minimal orange a'peel. Probably function the same I figured.

I absolutely love my headlights on my 07'. they are brighter than anything and look way cooler than the 06's. Just got to adjust them still after the KORE kit!!!!!

Remember you can't put a price on cool!!!!!

The (PLASTIC) "chrome" inside the headlight enclosure seems to be following the trend mimicking the FAST and Furious look. Not too crazy about the appearance and compared to my past vehicles could throw more light. Cathy's '01 VW Passat puts out way more and better defined light, high or low beam.

At least my taillights look conventional.

i thought 06+07 were the same

Took a look, and have no idea how to adjust the headlights on my 07'. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tired of being flashed by everybody who meets me on the road!!!

I only saw one screw, and that looked like it adjusted the side to side of the headlight. ????

Help please!!

Dane

If that screw you found was behind the rubber seal on the inside edge of the headlight, then it is the correct one to adjust the headlights up or down. That is the only adjusting screw I am aware of for the headlights.
