06-07 Ram, anyone paint or remove rams head from grille?

Not exactly tech, but has anyone painted or removed the rams head from the center of the grille on an 06-07? If I remove it, it will leave an indentation it's one of the last chrome pices on my truck (all black sport). I wonder how long the panit would last on the rams head if I scuffed if up a bit first? The one on the tail gate was a ***** to get off but looks so much cleaner now that it's gone.

When I turned my mega cab into a Sport I was going to fill the hole and call it good. But we forgot to fill it. At first I left the emblem off, but eventually put it back and like it there. It is the only chrome piece on the whole truck, but i like it.

nick, those are SS speed-grill inserts. these are from my 04, i had to trim them a little then i powder coated them black.



I was going for a "one of a kind" look.

Just bought a stock black grille from a Member here, looks a lot better now.

So do you think I should get rid of the front rams head or leave it?

I would address the wheels and cab lights first. Smoked lens' on the cab would be very nice on your truck. Some not so plastic-chrome wheels would make a big diff. I painted my stockers and they look great to me. Painting the wheels made the biggest diff. I did the bumpers, grill, door moldings, headlights and debadged but the wheels make the best impact.



As for the rams head, i think on your all black it would look good without it. I like mine with it, it just gives it enough contrast. But it is just the right touch in the center of your front end. Maybe painted the chrome black and leave it on there first and see if you like it. Its only glued on, but does have a centering pin.
