Unloaded its: HUH! HUH! HUH! HUH! HUH!!!! man that hurts. SO what's the solution? I want to level the truck anyway but so far it's like $1200 for a suspension kit from Carli that purposes to eliminate the fwy thing. any other ideas?

What tire pressure are you running? No problem with my Mega with canopy. Running 54psi front/ 50psi rear. Rancho 9000's made a big difference on my 96'.

I have the Carli set-up with the full rear leaf pack,it is a world of improvement and the handling in the desert is unreal .

Funny this thread came up. This past weekend I was driving my wife and in-laws on the freeway and they commented on the ride saying how harsh and bumpy it was. I changed lanes and it was smooth as glass. I run my tires at 65psi so that might be part of it, but the major part is the roads in California are awful. There are stretches of freeway I tense up on because I know the jarring that is going to come or the bottoming out of the front suspension. I only have 4k miles on my 2500 MC so I am not that anxious to change the shocks just yet (other things I want to spend my money on). I will wait until these are nice and used up then get an upgraded suspension from Kore/Carli/Lorenz - Haven't made up my mind on who yet.

I had the same problem and the Bilsteins took care of a big part of it. I have noticed that it isn't the front that is moving, it is the rear. I can look in my mirror and see the bounce at the rear as I drive. My feeling is that the rear springs unloaded are just too stiff. I measured the length of them compared to my neighbors GMC and mine are shorter and made up of 4 leaves. I wish there were a softer primary spring that carried the truck empty instead of the stiff springpack that we have.

Tame the overload spring rebound with weight. Beware flying debris during accidents or sudden stops if weight is not secured. HomeDepot/Lowes sells 'play sand' in tough vinyl bags. . it takes about 14 stacked over the axle and reducing rear tire pressure to notice a difference. More weight=less violent rebound=more comfort. You lose bed space.

It's definately worth the $1200 from Carli it will make your truck feel so much better on those expansion joints. You should realize what you get though. You get new front springs, rear mini pack, full billet 17-4 sway bar end links, and bilstein shocks all the way around. And on top of that the ride of the truck is unbelievable.

I haven't driven in a Carli equipped truck, but the KORE Chase system is very nice over the expansion joints. The 2. 0 shocks are the ticket for nice freeway and washboard road performance. I run 2. 5 Fox's(KORE Race) in my truck, bigger is better in the rough, but the Chase system rules the street and washboard.

I have the KORE Chase kit on my '06, and I also have a Snug Top shell with usually 100-200 pounds or stuff in the bed. Right now, I have 52 psi front and 50 psi rear with the stock BFG tires.

On the 5, 91, or 405 in Orange County, CA, it beats the crap out of me and my girlfriend. In the 80s, I had a lowered minitruck that rode smoother - and it was so low it often scraped off the lane marking dots.

Granted, the system works great offroad, but on the expansion joints it is horrible (worse than stock).

I have had the Kore race and chase,I have to say I am sold on The Carli I am driving now. The valving is exactly what I was looking for. I would recomend you watch for the next SoCalRR's off road trip, tag along and see what works best.
