My 06 has allready been in the shop for a leaking front main crank seal... not to sure how major that was but over the complete first week of having the truck it leaked out a quart of oil on my freshly paved driveway.

anywho when sitting in neutral and revving the engine to around 2K rpms the engine will tick as it revs up and down. The ticking noise is pretty fast in conjunction with the revving. Is this the valves doing this ? normal not normal? will this show up on the computer for the dealer if they plug it in or are they going to have to take my truck for a test drive.

As far as the conditions in which it will do this im not sure on that. Me and an employee noticed it today several times.

Im hate taking it into the dealership because last time I took it in they had the truck for nearly a week trying to fix the oil leak. Then the time before they had it for 3 days fixing the dipstick that was resting on an a/c hose line making for a loud vibration. They offer a loaner but its usually a dodge 1500 and I use this 06 2500 to pull 5K plus loads 6 days a week. I couldnt handle the fuel bill on a 1500.

Don't know about your ticking noise, but mine ticks when I first start it up in the morning. Not right away though, I start it up and it will idle for about 45 seconds and it will start ticking, it will tick for about a minute and a half then it quits and won't tick again for the rest of the day no matter how many times you start and stop it. It runs strong and gets 18+ mpg so the dealer ships not gonna start poking around on my truck. .

I bought the vehicle for the better fuel milage than my powerstroke but I have yet to see better than 11. 5 towing & 14 highway.

You might try the rokktech sensor, just installed it on my truck and it seems to be getting even better mpg, Also I see alot of guys talking about the quadzilla modules and added mpg. You might look into those also, although with the modules you have to remove them before taking it in to the dealership.

www.rokktech.com for the sensor

www.quadzillapower.com for the modules, most seem to get the best mpg with the xzt module, they can be had for around 225. 00 dollars if you look around.

Even Thou It's New, Might Want To Check The Valves

I just had my valves adjusted today. After he found a few loose, he said screw it and just adjusted them all. Mine has 9500 miles on it, and runs like a champ now!! It was good before, and now, it's great! Watched my mpg computer climb over a full mpg so far just on the return trip home! This thing is getting better and better the more miles I put on it. :D I got 14. 1 mpg towing a car trailer with a '65 Olds Cutlass in it, some of that trip was in traffic. My '03 Hemi at it's best only got 16 on the highway... ... ..... EMPTY!!
