Some friends are in town and he was ready the latest issue. He read the article about the new 6spd manual, and came away with the impression that he can only up grade the air intake and exhaust without maxing out his transmission. Any help or clarifacation would be great... . TIA... Scott

Scott,

I'm stock so I can't speak to your question. I've heard others wondering the same thing not just about the transmission but the dual mass flywheel and clutch assembly as well.

I believe I read somewhere that Peter from Southbend clutch has come up with a good replacement for the dual mass setup. I believe in that same thread Blumenthal took apart the transmission and found it to be a pretty good unit though they did find some things they felt could have been done better.

Good luck !

transmission was used in Medium duty applications before use by Dodge. While there are guys running alot more power than me I've added 140ft lb tq through injectors. I regularly tow 5500lbs and occasional 8k with no problems to date.
