I'm currently using the standard fixed orifice Pac-Brake from my 05 that I traded in. The standard brake works great but I know the PRXB would be even better, does anyone have the PRXB installed on an 06 auto equipped CTD?

I just installed one on a members 04. 5 six shooter.

I'm really thinking about selling my standard brake and getting the PRXB.

Thanks for listening!

Rank I install these here at the shop drive them a short ways and deliver them to customers in the evening. Well we got a new 06 dually to tow with i said hell guys put one in. Yes I agree about the trans programming for the 06 trans, it is very good. I have done some heavy towing and my standard Pac is great! Scott if you happen to talk to any of your customers, please let me know what they have experienced, the good and the bad.

I'm just wondering if the 48RE can handle the additional braking forces of the PRXB at lower rpm. The PRXB may harm the trans and I don't want to take the risk.

I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has put some significant miles on an 06 48RE equipped truck and used the PRXB. All said and done I may have to be the one to do it.

Thanks

I have 2006 with dealer installed brake. I love it. It will cut out at about 750rpms. I think it works with the transmission and computer great.

PacBrake and Cummins spend a lot of time sharing information..... you'll find no problems with your PXRB and the automatic transmission..... We've installed several and I'm amazed at how they function... its so seamless... .

the new brake has been designed so that there is no longer a fixed orfice in the butterfly... . but a port that is sealed off until the back pressure reaches 60 psi... than it opens... so you get more retarding HP down to a lower rpm... .

I've noticed that on loads over 12k lbs... the new brake will hold those loads down a 6% grade where with the old brake you used to have to use the service brakes some... With the 6 speed... we have no problem holding 15 - 16 K lbs of trailer weight. . I've never personally tired it with the auto... but I'm told that the automatic downshift of the transmission makes it function almost as good as the 6 speed... .

Hope this helps... .
