Hi

My neighbor bought a 06 it has less than 5000 ml, @ about 25mph when it shifts to high gear it bangs hard. Has anyone else had or heard of this problem?

Thanks

At about the same mileage my 06 started acting up also. The torque converter wouldn't lock up. The local dealer coundn't find anything wrong even with a P1740 code. I said goodbye to warranty and the cruddy dealer mechanic and had a Goering converter and valve body put in so I won't be worrying about the under enginered trans. 95% of the time the dealer will just say its within specs or couldn't duplicate. Thats my humble opinion anyway, goodluck.

I had the same problem, sounded like someone banging two wrenches together. Dealer kept saying couldn't duplicate it. So I traded trucks and got a manual trans. No more banging. Oo.

SPound,

I have a 05 and was just going to ask if anybody had a stock truck with a Dave Goerand TQ and VB. What are your impressions with this set up? I drive my truck most of the time in the Tow/ Haul mode so it does not slush around with that dang loosie-goosie feeling converter. Can you give me so insight of what to expect? Thnks.

So far I really like the Goering tripple disk torque converter, it also has life time warranty. One thing I noticed it the torque converter makes the truck a little slower off the line because its not slipping as much so it takes a few seconds more to get the engine RPM's up. I tow a 11000 lb gooseneck every day so I ordered the converter for heavier pulling than for racing. I noticed my trans temp have dropped about 50 degrees but a lot of that is because stock converter was building a lot of heat. I would recommend a torque converter and a valve body to anybody that puts their Dodge auto thru heavy or abnormal usage such as towing or power inhancements. It cost about 2300 which included parts mentioned plus a few other items they recommend also included R&R.
