Check engine light came on today--I'm wondering if I might have an emissions problem?????

Bet it was the 'ol typical P0514 Battery Temperature Sensor fault. Seems to be common on the '06s with the old ECM update. Re-flash from the dealer with the current ECM files should fix it. :)

Mine too. Black as what was drained immediately after startup. I could run my previous 94 and 01. 5 close to 10,000 when I let them go longer than I wanted a few times and the oil was nowhere close to this. Like someone mentioned earlier, the drained oil from the older trucks looked like oil from an extended drain on a gasser, except it smelled much better than used oil from a gasser.

I bought 3 gallons of Valvoline Premium Blue from Auto Zone. I noticed the label color was different on one gallon. I also noticed the odd one was much darker in color compared to the other two. After filling I looked closer and the darker colored oil was CI-4 plus and the lighter colored oil was CJ-4 plus.

I wonder how many service depts. or quicky lubes have been accused of not changing the oil... ???

My 06 turns black right after an oil change... but you can rub the black oil between your fingers and it will clear right up... go figure?
