Well im trying to find something creative that members may have come up with for mounting CBs in a truck like mine. I have the cupholders on the floor so the mounts from genos wont work if im reading the discription correctly. Its a 06 mega cab with 40/20/40 seats, slt trim, and like I said it has the cupholders and little storage bins. Any ideas. Pics would really help. Oh the radio is a Grant xl so its fairly wide plus an extra inch or so for fine tuning knobs on all the extra goodies:-laf

Just get a Cobra 75wx and you won't need to cut or drill anything in the interior or loose any leg room.

I have used them for years and they seem to work just as good as the 29's and 148's I have had in the past.

In my opinion the old school CB's just look ugly and are huge and dated and belong in the big rigs there is no good place to mount one that I have found yet that I would do myself

I just sold my 29 WX and purchased a 75 wx because of these reasons

I have my brake controler in the exact location as the pic above and I have a uniden pro510 mounted right beside it. It fits real nice. I did have a Cobra 25 in the same location for a while but the 510 fits better because of the small size. Of course I have an auto transmission

Wx75

Try a search for the Cobra 75. You'll find most love it or hate it. I hated it.

The only thing I have done in the past is added an external speaker to it

other than that they have worked great for me. I also like the weather band which is nice since I use these in my Jeeps while camping

i put mine under the middle seat , its tight and you cant see the display , but you can get to all the dials and such , just set the channel and leave it , it works and its out of the way

Got the mount already. Mount looks very solid and well thought out. Now to get the rest of the supplies. Has Firestik came out with the fender mount for the 06 trucks yet?

I use a Uniden 510 and mounted it in the little cubby hole beneath the oem radio and above the heater/ac controls. It's small but people say it sounds ok. I don't need to talk that far anyway, unless I'm running in the hills with somebody driving a Ford ... .

Got a mount from Radio Shack for my 06 almost the same as for my 94. fender mount $15.
